Is there a fee to use www.PlasticsJobsForum.com? |
| A |
There is NEVER a fee to Jobseekers to Post their Resumes or to Search Jobs. |
| |
| Q |
Do I need to post my Resume to search your Jobs List? |
| A |
No. Once you register, you can immediately search the jobs list and see what is available. If you find an opportunity of interest, a posted resume is required to respond to the job. |

| Q |
I have been trying to complete my registration; but after filling in all the required information and clicking on Submit, it keeps coming back with a message that 'all information must be filled in to register'. Am I doing something wrong? I use AOL. |
| A |
The world of software is not always compatible, especially with AOL, which often has 'a mind of its own'. Here are several possible solutions to explore: It may be as simple as a internet disconnect, where the monitor image remains, but you are actually disconnected. The technical possibilities include [1] Do you have the 'javascript option' in AOL activated? [2] Do you have ' accept cookies' on? [3] Is AOL both your browser and email? If using a separate email program, such as Eudora, Outlook Express, etc, you may need to check items 1&2. [4] You may need to update your browser. |

| Q |
I created a Resume on your website; but, I'm not sure if my Resume and Profile were accepted. I tried to create them again, but they were somehow erased and did not show on the Preview page. |
| A |
You experienced a 'timing-out'. There may have been a blip in your phone line (dial-up modems), or your cable connection, that essentially ended your logon session, even though the screen image remained. If you were 'disconnected', you cannot go backward. Exit and reopen your browser. Click on the Jobseeker tab on the Home page, click on the Logon tab, click on 'Update Resume'. Your material should display on the screen. |
| |
| Q |
When creating my User ID and Password; I clicked on Submit and it went back to the Registration page. |
| A |
Check your browser version, it may need to be updated to the latest version. Check your security level - open your browser, click on Tools, click on Internet Options, click on the Privacy tab. Setting to medium is really all you need. You may also have experienced a disconnect. |

| Q |
What happens after the 90-day registration period? Can I still access my Resume? Can I update and reuse? Can I change my Status? |
| A |
Unlike the 'mega sites', www.PlasticsJobsForum.com is a career site - accessible 24/7 during your full career. Because the job market and economy are exceptionally slow, we have increased the posting period to 180-days. If not renewed before expiration, your Resume automatically reverts to 'inactive status'. For Employers, it means no active Resume is older than 180-days. For Jobseekers, you are not lost among a mass of outdated and abandoned listings by other Jobseekers. You still have 24/7 access at any time - to edit and update information for now and future use, or to re-activate by simply changing your job search status. |
| |
| Q |
Why do you require Jobseekers to create a Resume before they can Search Job listings? If there are no specific jobs of interest, haven't I wasted my time? |
| A |
Absolutely not! For 3 important reasons. First, the major factor in a successful job search is timing - being in the right place at the right time. Secondly, the primary activity on this site is Employers searching the Resumes for the 'right people'. If your Resume is not there, you may miss a wonderful opportunity. Jobseekers often do not realize that search is a two-way activity, and/or have no awareness of the high level of Employer traffic. We believe this approach best serves both sides. Finally, by registering, if an Employer subscribes to our Email the Resume Database service, you will receive their message, regardless of your current status, which is confidentially broadcasted by us. |

| Q |
I registered several weeks ago, but had to stop before starting to build my Resume. I tried to re-register and start again, but the site said the User ID was already in use. |
| A |
When you try to re-register with the same User ID (email address), the system will not allow it, as it would be a duplicate and breach security. Since your original Registration was successful, you need only to simply Logon, select Update Resume and start where you left off. |
| |
| Q |
I attempted to become a new user and register with you as I am looking for a job in the plastics field and have 25 years experience. Unfortunately, your site keeps telling me that I can leave no blank spaces; but I filled in all the required spots. |
| A |
Similar to the prior question. If you are inactive for a period of time (a break, a phone call, etc), as little as 10-minutes, you may have experiences a 'timing-out'. The screen image may still be there, but you are required to re-logon. We have no control over timing-outs, as it is on your end. You may need to contact your internet provider to increase your time. |

| Q |
I can not open the site. |
| A |
Check your browser version, it may need to be updated to the latest version. Also check your security level - open your browser, click on Tools, click on Internet Options, click on the Privacy tab. Setting to medium is really all you need. |
| |
| Q |
I would like to find out more about your site - specifically confidentiality. If I want to post my resume, how can I be assured that my current employer will not find out about my search. |
| A |
You can create a 'blind' or 'confidential' posting of your Resume. Our software will blank out your name and contact information, that you entered in your Profile, and it will not be seen online. However, you must not include your name and contact information in the Resume or Cover letter boxes, as those frames are displayed as shown. Remember, you control the information posted and further editing of company names, etc, is your elective decision and easy to do. |

| Q |
I forgot my Password, can you help? |
| A |
To retrieve your Password is very, very simple - it is automatic and all online. Open the website. Logon and enter your email address where requested. Then click on the 'Forget Your Password?' link, and follow the instructions. The Password, for security reasons, will be sent only to the email address of record. |
| |
| Q |
I tried to Logon and was denied access. |
| A |
You may have used the wrong User ID or Password or mis-typed its entry. If you forget either, the Logon page allows you to retrieve either or both. You will need to remember the supplemental hint word. However, for your security protection, the User ID and/or Password will only be transmitted to the email address of record. |
| |
| Q |
I changed my internet provider and have a new email address, but my User ID is my old address. How do I change it? |
| A |
Go to the Logon page and follow the directions to change your User ID and/or Password. |
| |
| Q |
I have filled out my Resume and submitted it. Now when I go to Search Jobs I can not get in. |
| A |
This may have been a timing-out during the original posting of your information, or you used the wrong User ID and/or Password. (In this case, it was the latter, as all the data was in the system) |
| |
| Q |
I have tried numerous times to Register and post my Resume without success. Is there anyway you can do this for me? |
| A |
For security and privacy reasons, Registration and data entry are self-managed activities. Therefore, we can not provide that service, but will work with you to identify the problem (it was both a timing-out and old browser version in this instance) |
| |
| Q |
I recently registered and completed the Profile. When I try to do a Job Search, I am denied access. |
| A |
Registration is not complete without the inclusion of a Resume. At the request of Employers, whose fees underwrite this site and allows your activities to be free and were complaining that there were many Registrations with nothing more than contact information, we reformatted the system to not recognize or display those Jobseekers without Resumes. Why? We concluded that those who did not present a Resume were not serious Jobseekers. If you are concerned about privacy, post a 'blind' Resume or select 'inactive status'. The first limits what is seen and the second locks out viewing of your Resume altogether - but both allow you to search the Job Postings and respond online. |

| Q |
Can I refer the website to a friend? |
| A |
We appreciate all referrals, as it spreads the word and builds name recognition. We make it simple for you too. Just click on 'forward to a friend', enter the information and we will take care of the rest. Thank you for thinking of us! |
| |
| Q |
I have looked through the website for indications on how to cancel my account, but I must be missing something. I need to cancel and delete all information. |
| A |
There are two solutions - the first is to change your status to 'inactive'. Your Resume is no longer viewable, but remains for future use. If you truly wish to erase your Registration and Resume presence, we have added this feature to your activity menu. |
